Location #17

The photos in this location are of various remnants of the old highway and briges supports in the area where the highway crossed over ther railroad track at the southernmost part of Pismo Beach. Where the 101 originally crossed over the tracks here was the last place on the old highway that was still a dirt road. The bridges weren't constructed until around 1928.

Remnants of the first railroad bridge of 1928.

More remains of the bridge.

This was a culvert under the original paved county Route 2... Just east of the railroad crossing.

Very little left of the original cement highway here.

Another shot of the cement road and drainage culvert just east of the railroad crossing.
