Gonzales Section
The original route of Highway 101 follows the current 101 freeway for about 8 miles north from Soledad, until you get to the town of Gonzales, Ca.. Gonzales is pretty much a farming community, and most of the residents are either in the agricultural service or support them.
The Original route through Gonzales followed what today is Alta St. The current freeway bypassed Gonzales in 1962. Almost all of the pictures here were taken in 2007.
